Satellite remote sensing of limnological indicators of global change

Abstract
The on-going research described herein focuses on the general hypothesis that large-scale and long-term trends in lake ice formation and breakup, along with changes in the optical properties of lakes, can serve as robust integrated measures of regional and global climate change. Digital satellite data covering the lakes of Wisconsin are being integrated with detailed limnological surface measurements in the context of a geographic information system.
