NTL-LTER Spatial Data
Spatial data at NTL-LTER can be accessed in several different ways. To display and explore a map in your web browser,
use any of the three regional interactive map applications. More advanced spatial analysis can be performed in a geographic
information system (GIS) environment, using either individual data sets downloaded from the spatial data catalog, or by
directly connecting to the NTL-LTER spatial database.
Data catalog for download
Spatial data sets at NTL-LTER can be downloaded from the
Spatial Data Catalog.
All data are provided as compressed shapefiles, which can be used in a variety of geographic information system GIS) environments.
Interactive maps
The interactive maps can be viewed with a web browser. An introduction and guide to using the maps is available here:

Spatial database
The NTL-LTER spatial data are maintained in a spatial database. Many GIS software systems can access these data directly
from the database, without the need for manually downloading and uncompressing copies of individual data sets.
