This document describes additional tools available for MobileFish 5.
Prerequisites
Not having these tools installed will cause errors when you run the tools.
- SQL Server CE 2005 is required in order to run the PC utilities.
- The .NET Framework 2.0 may also be required.
MobileFish Tools for Desktop PC
You must run these tools from your local hard drive, or you will get a security error.
- The Set Prepopulation Tool (CSV --> SDF) lets you specify your set data in advance. It takes a CSV file as input and creates an SDF file (SQL CE Database) for use with the MobileFish Pocket PC client.
- The Data File Editor (SDF) lets you work with your MobileFish database (SDF file) on your desktop.
- The Data Replication Tool (SDF <--> MDB) lets you convert the database between SQL Server CE (SDF) and Microsoft Access (MDB) formats. The Information Management team uses this tool to convert the MobileFish 5 data into the old FishSamp schema for input into Oracle.
MobileFish 5 stores the data in an SDF file (a SQL Server CE database) on the Pocket PC. To get the SDF file to/from the Pocket PC, use Microsoft ActiveSync.

- 5.0.0.1212 - Released June 2007. 2007's major release.
- 5.0.0.1213 - Released July 2007. Fixed fatal error when adding Scale. Source code lost.
- 5.1.0.1214 - Released 6/16/2009. First 5.1 Beta. Released for testing.
