North Temperate Lakes

Please share your ideas for the future of our lakes in the exhibit journal or here on our web site. We hope to leave these reflections as a time capsule, to inform and inspire future artists, scientists, and residents of the region who will no doubt treasure these lakes even more than we do today.

And then… we encourage you to explore these lakes, take your sketch book, a camera, a journal, a picnic lunch, a good friend. Record fish caught, birds singing, aquatic flowers in bloom, and help build the record of science started by Edward Birge and Chauncey Juday. Write a poem, make a sketch, or take a photo. Like any explorer, make sure not to leave your curiosity and sense of adventure at home!
